Our Curriculum: Diverse, Nurturing, Aspirational
At Lum Head Primary School we believe that children learn best when they are happy and motivated to learn. We provide a curriculum that is challenging, engaging and creative. Our children develop a range of skills and knowledge, we encourage curiosity, aspiration and a love of learning. Lum Head’s school Ethos and Vision is at the heart of our curriculum.
- We ensure National Curriculum coverage for all pupils from Year 1 to Year 6. We promote excellence in the core subjects of English, Maths, Science and Computing.
- Our curriculum is structured so that skills and knowledge are learned sequentially. Progress is planned so that prior learning is revisited, new learning builds on prior knowledge and all learning is embedded.
- We have high expectations for all our learners. Every child is given opportunities to find what they love. We build independence, self-esteem and self-confidence. Our children are lifelong learners, prepared for secondary school and a positive future in a diverse modern society.
